April 2022

Zou met a woman in April 2022 on a meeting app called Soul. They had dinner in Chinatown in London. Zou pressed the woman to drink whiskey until she was sick on the street. He then raped it in the accommodation of students on Woburn Place, near the Russell Square, in the Bloomsbury area of ​​Lonndon.

May 18, 2023

A woman who studied mathematics with Zou entered him at a friend’s party, then returned to his apartment in the same building. He continued to encourage her to drink wine. He felt uncomfortable and tried to leave. Zou dragged her from her clothes from the front door to her bedroom. He pressed him to drink vodka until he felt “out of control”. He then raped it. She woke up around 6 in the morning in her bed, naked, feeling “dizzy and sleepy.”

Zou and the woman sent each other in the days following the incident. The court saw translations of these messages. He sent him a phrase that translates that “it was wrong” or “I did something wrong”. A day later, the woman said, “You are so disgusting” and “now I just want to expose you.”

May 21, 2023

January 24, 2024

The Metropolitan Police launched video images of the moment they arrested Zhenhao Zou.

The police discovered a stash of ketamine, MDMA, Xanax and GHB in the apartment. Also, the police found more videos about him raping women while they were unconscious. The apartment also contained jewelry and clothes for women, about which the criminal prosecution said he kept “souvenirs” when he raped them.

February 2024

The police interviewed the woman Zou raped in May 2023. She said: “I felt very disgusting, but I had no power to fight. I don’t even remember when this was over because I already passed. “

January 2025

Zhenhao Zou’s trial started at the Crown Court in London. He was accused of 11 accusations of rape, 12 charges of having extreme pornography, eight charges of holding a drug controlled with the intention of providing him, three charges of voyeurism and a false prison number.

He denied all the accusations, claiming that the women in his videos have agreed to the role.
