Supply Committee 2025 Debate, Day 5: Yeo Wan Ling on the team at work and health performance at work

As an aging society, jobs must be more inclusive and accommodating for the physical needs of an older personnel base. In addition, more attention and conversations can be located around the changes in the life cycle, such as menopause. The mental wellness is also an increasingly important indicator in the workplace and health performance, about one in seven people in Singapore faces a mental disorder in their lives. Deputy Yeo Wan Ling made these observations in Parliament on Thursday (March 6). She mentioned that some jobs have mental well -being champions, but more can be done to improve the preparation and expertise of these champions. She wanted to know how the Ministry of Employment will continue to support employers, especially small and medium -sized enterprises in the collective effort to build a strong safety and wellness culture in Singapore.
