The couple married 50 years and was killed in the fire in the middle of the field identified now

The authorities launched the name of a husband and wife who was killed last month, when the fire passed through their house in the middle of the field.

The coroner’s office in Jefferson County identified the victims as Odis Edward Ward, 72, and Vanessa Avery Ward, 71 years old. The victims, have been married for 50 years, have been positively identified by dental records, deputy chief Bill Yates said on Thursday.

The firefighters arrived to find the house that contained flames. An elderly family member was saved and taken to the hospital with unknown injuries.

Alabama State Fire Marshal’s office is investigating the cause and origin of the fire.
