Common work group inspects material damage after accidental bombing

Pocheon, South Korea, March 7 (Yonhap) – local and military officials launched a common working group on Friday to inspect damage and safety conditions in this week’s accidental bombing of a northern village.

About 100 people from the Pocheon Municipal Government and the military began inspecting material damages in the city, about 40 kilometers north of Seoul, one day after two KF-16 fighter jets of the Air Forces missed eight bombs on one of its villages during live fire exercises.

So far, a number of 58 households have reported material damage.

The safety inspection will be run by officials from the Gyeonggi Provincial Government and the Ministry of Defense, who will analyze the electrical installations, gas equipment and buildings to determine if they are sure to live.

It is expected that the inspections will be completed later in the earliest day.
