Springers FC and Newcomers Federal United FC fought on a 2-2 draw on Jarrett Park on Saturday, while both teams won the first point in the Premier League in Jamaica.

After being beaten with 6-1 in their previous week’s opening match, Federal United fought from a deficit of two goals half-time to win a heavy draw, because both teams expressed their satisfaction with the result.

Trecia Booth, the federal coach of United, said she was satisfied with the result, although they targeted all three points. Owen Barrett from Springers said he had to travel to Granville to train the absence of senior defenders cost two points.

Meanwhile, the defense of the Champions Frazsiers Whip and Los Perfetos had wins from the proven girls, respectively Wifi United.

Frazsiers Whip won 7-1, and Los Perfetos was 2-0 winners, while Cavalier defeated Mile Gully 4-1, and UWI women defeated Real Mobay 2-0.

Barrett said he is not happy to give up two goals in the second half, but explained that their preparation was prevented due to the absence of senior players for their opening game.

“We have revealed ourselves in terms of our defense in the second half, as we were not consistent in holding the line, as we were not at a match level on which it had to be,” he said. “We played well and, given the fact that we still have problems with training motifs, they have done well.”

Springers trained at the College of Teachers Sam Sharpe in Granville.

Booth said she was also pleased with the way she played her young team.

“We are the youngest team in the competition and we use high school players mainly,” she said. “We came here for the three points, but we got to share the points, which is okay, but (we) really came to get the three points today.”

Booth said that, despite being new, they targeted a high level, “we want to be in the first four. We know it will be a very difficult task, but, in order, we go to the first four in the competition. “

Springers FC took the lead in the ninth minute, when Jessica Harris’s blow was redirected by a federal defender by goalkeeper Gabriel Hamilton, and the former national junior representative Fedrick Finnikin added a second after throwing his way into the 18-Yard United Federal box and fired in the 23rd min.

Federal pulled a goal back in the 50th minute, when Africke Beckford defeated Portal Samoy Jackson, and Yasheka Lewis took a point in the 56th minute, when her left corner found the upper left corner.
