The Amazon’s delivery driver accused of sexually assaulted a minor and a woman while at work, says the police

Fernando Barreto-Hernandez was initially arrested on January 24, after being accused of sexually assaulted a minor while delivering Amazon packages in Los Angeles in December 2024, said Glendale Police Department (GPD) in a press release.

While appearing in court for this case on February 21, Barreto-Hernandez was arrested for a separate court that took place in Glendale on January 21, when a woman claimed to have been sexually assaulted by an Amazon service driver, the police added.

The Los Angeles district lawyer’s office subsequently filed a “combination of charges of crime and crimes for the two cases”, according to the police. On The Los Angeles TimesBarreto-Hernandez was accused of Lewd or Lascive acts with a child under 14 and has touched a person against their will for sexual arousal.

Barreto-Hernandez pleaded not to be guilty for the accusations, CBS News Los Angeles reported, citing the judicial documents.

Barreto-Hernandez-who worked on delivery for Amazon, Amazon Flex and FedEx, on the police-is currently in connection.

In the press release, GPD said he was looking for information about “potential additional victims” that Barreto-Hernandez could concern. The authorities said that these people could reach the attack unit of the Glendale Police Department.

People addressed comments to the public defender of the county. It is not clear immediately if Barreto-Hernandez has legal representation to comment on his behalf.

Alisa Carroll, a spokeswoman for Amazon, told Los Angeles’ Kabc In a statement that delivery drivers are not “Amazon employees”.

“Those who deliver Amazon customers are working for providers of independent third party delivery service providers,” she explained.

A representative for Amazon did not respond immediately to the request of comments on Sunday, March 9th.
