A car climbed flames in a suspicious fire attack. Merseyside police are investigating the incident, who saw a car concerned Southport Saturday (March 8).

Fire and Salvation Service Merseyside informed Merseyside police of a fire at a garage around 9.05 PM involving a car. The fire was extinguished by the fire crews and no injuries were reported, but significant damage was caused. Criminal investigations, CCTV and witnesses are in progress.

Detective inspector Sara Lang said: “Initially we believe that this was a fire and we keep an open mind why this happened. To establish a vehicle is reckless in the extreme and we put anyone in the neighborhood with a serious risk. We are determined to find the responsible ones, and the questions continue this week.

“As part of our investigation, we would like to hear from anyone who was in the area around 21:00 Saturday night and we saw or captured anything. The smallest detail could be vital, so say what you know and take action.”
