Syrian security forces accused of massacred hundreds of Christian and Alawite civilians

The security forces loyal to the new government of Syria were accused of massacred hundreds of civilians in the coast of Alwita and the Christian communities, after the Government stated that it has launched a military campaign against the fighters for former President Bashar al-Assad. The Syrian observer for human rights reports at least 745 civilians were killed in 29 massacres in the provinces of Latakia and Tartus. The victims include children and the elderly, most have killed the style of execution. Massacres came while some rebellious fighters look to punish the Alawite community, because the Assad family belongs to the Alawite sect, which constitutes 12% of Syria’s population. The inhabitants of Latakia condemned the massacres.

Ahmad al-Acăjar: “We do not want a sectarian war. We want to rebuild our country. We do not want to shed blood, neither from us nor by them, because it will not change anything. There are those who benefit from war and do not want Syria to recover. They take advantage while civilians on both sides suffer. But we reject that. We want peace. We want our country to heal. “
