A Texas father learned his fate after admitting that he had killed his 8-year-old daughter, forcing her to jump on a trampoline in the heat that fades as a punishment.

The girl, Jaylin Anne, was forced to jump on the trampoline in 110 degrees and died of dehydration.

On Thursday, Daniel Schwartz, 48 years old, from Odessa, was guilty of murder in the death of his adopted daughter, announced the Etor County District lawyer in a Facebook post.

Schwarz was sentenced to 18 years in the custody of the Texas Criminal Justice Department.

His wife, Ashley Schwarz, 38, was sentenced to murder in the capital on May 1, 2023. She was sentenced to life in prison without conditions of conditional freedom.

“This result is a will of the hard work and the dedication of our prosecutors and the Odessa Police Department in search of justice,” The district lawyer wrote in the post.

As people have previously reported, The crime came to light on August 29, 2020, when the Odessa police officers were called to Schwarz’s house and found Jaylin deceased.

An investigation revealed that, as a punishment, the little girl “was not allowed to eat breakfast and asked to jump on the trampoline without stopping for a long time,” the police said at that time.

“Subsequent research has revealed that the 8 -year -old was not allowed to drink water because he did not jump,” they said.

The couple forced it to jump on the trampoline in the dangerous heat. The temperature of the trampoline when the girl died was about 110 degrees, and the land was about 150 degrees, the police said at that time.

The autopsy showed that the cause of Jaylin’s death is dehydration and led the way of death as a homicide.

The couple were Jaylin’s tutors, family members said CBS 7.

Her biological mother, Alysha Anderton, said she tried to have access to her daughter and Jaylin’s sister, who was also in the Schwarz family’s care at Jaylin’s death.

Jaylin “was full of life, loved riding, ice skating and all things outdoors,” said her obituary. “He loved all people and animals and was very interested in history and science.”
