Speakers on tractors and trucks forbidden as the Hola Mohalla festival starts in Punjab

In order to protect them from any unfavorable incident, the authorities in Punjab have imposed the prohibition of speakers on tractors and trucks during the holidays of the Hola Mohalla festival. The festival is celebrated in SRI Kiratpur Sahib and SRI Anandpur Sahib from March 10 to March 15.

ProSviding Information in this Regard, senior superintendent of Police (SSP) of Rupnaagar, Gulneet Singh Khurana, Said this the Police Administration of All the Districities of the Punjab Has Already Been Instruction the Representatives of Truck Unions and Panchayats, Through Stations under the respective districts/units, that no double-decker tricks, Large Speakers Installed on tractor trolleys, pressure horns and shock absorbers will be allowed to enter SRI Anandpur Sahib and SRI Kiratpur Sahib during the festival.

SSP said that measures will be taken against those who violate traffic and law. “Strict measures will be taken against those who violate the traffic rules,” Khurana said. He said that vehicles that cause noise pollution will eliminate their speakers on the spot before they are left to go further.

Khurana said that to prevent the problems caused by the sound of speakers during Hola Mohalla, it was decided that no two -storey trucks will be left with any speaker to enter the Rupnagar district.

He referred to an incident that Hapenend during the 2023 holidays, in which a young Sikh died during the holidays after a dispute for a tractor speaker. For this reason, he also appealed to all to follow the orientations and traffic rules issued by the police administration, so that any kind of unfavorable incident can be prevented at any level.

Hola Mohalla, also called Hola, is a three -day Sikh festival, which usually took place in March. It falls on the second day of the monthly month of Chett, usually one day after the Hindus Holi festival. However, sometimes it coincides with it. It is a big festive event for Sikhi from all over the world, in which it gathers in large numbers for the event.
