4 cases of parvovirus requests Harford Humane Society to suspend dogs of dogs

Harford County, md. – The Human Society of Harford County does not take dogs at this time, after four dogs testified for canine parvovirus.

Is an extremely contagious virus that causes largely gastrointestinal problems.

The virus does not affect any other species, so human society continues to accept cats and other animals.

Human society said that the four dogs have tested positive in recent weeks and that there is also an “increase in parvovirus in all of Harford County”.

Fernando Diaz, the director of HSHC operations, said in a statement:

We ask the public understanding as we take these necessary precautions and focus on the content of the disease. We know it is not ideal, but we ask the pet owners to delay to teach their dogs for at least a week. We also recommend our community that if I find a dog and, if possible, the best thing to do is to shelter the dog at home and notify us.

Anyone who finds a lost dog should try to post about it on social networks (including ring and nextdoor), hang it on neighborhood leaflets, take it to a local veterinarian for a microchip scan or complete the Lost or Found online ratio.
