Tybee Island Police is preparing for St. Patrick Day parade

Tybee Island, Ga. (Woc) – Tybee Island is about to be packaged with locals and visitors alike for St. Patrick Day parade.

In addition to making sure it is a fun time for everyone, safety is a peak concern for law enforcement and parade committee.

Tybee police have already made twelve arrests until this month for DUI. In a situation, two young children were in the car. This is why this weekend will be all hands on the deck for the department.

This weekend there will be additional police officers on the island.

The captain of the Tybee Police Department says they will apply all local and state laws, especially for anyone trying to lead under influence.

If you intend to drink on the island this weekend, make sure you plan, call a Uber, a taxi or have a sober friend to be available to pick up.

“And therefore, they are very vigilant and aware of what is happening in the whole community. And I watched the large number of arrests up to this fact. And that’s why we ask the public to help us do their share, drink responsible and make sure they always have a safe and sober walk at home, ”says Captain Emory Randolph.

Tybee Island has an island riding service, called Breezy Riders, where travel only pay $ 5 in cash to go anywhere on the island.

On Friday, Tybee police will lead the first road safety control point of the year. Takes place on the 80th highway for anyone who enters or exits the island.

The police will check things like drivers, licenses, seat belts and compliance with Georgia’s law.

They ask everyone to follow the law, to lead carefully and to follow the instructions of all law enforcement.

“With this said, if I meet things like someone under influence or someone who has drugs, they will also apply these laws. Therefore, we ask everyone to grant us voluntary conformity to a law, to lead carefully and to follow the instructions of the entire law enforcement, ”says Captain Randolph.

As a result, drivers should expect delays this Friday.

The parade of St. Patrick’s Day of Tybee Island begins on Saturday at 15:00
