The attack in the center of the city of Eastside Machete moves to the conviction

The man accused of attacking two strangers with a model outside a hotel in Vancouver has been guilty and is now waiting for the conviction.

Kenneth Stephen Solowan, 37, was arrested on August 10 near Chinatown and made the first appearance in court on August 17th. Faced two charges of aggravated aggression.

Solowan appeared through video in front of the Judge of the Provincial Court of Vancouver, Patricia Stark on Tuesday.

Initially, he pleaded innocent in January 2023, but changed the reasons for guilt until December of that year.

The attack happened in front of the Empress hotel in the center of Eastside, on June 19, 2022, when two persons charging in a taxi were attacked by a stranger.

Both victims suffered significant injuries and required hospitalization.

A patrol officer of the Vancouver Police Department was signaled, but the suspect fled immediately after the attack, and the investigators could only get a limited description.

Police said evidence including Security movies of a man running away from the area, as well as advice from the public, helped detectives identify Solowan as a suspect.

April 25 was set as a date for conviction references.

Solowan was has given bail In August 2022, but would have immediately violated his conditions.

He was re-arrested a few weeks later in the mission, where someone recognized from an image launched by the Vancouver police and reported observation.

Solowan remains in arrest.
