The troops arrested Gelinas on Friday on the power of a mandate.

The burglary was reported on August 29, 2023.

According to the mandate, a window was broken to the business and more than $ 36,000 were stolen.

The state police said, in addition to the objects, the suspect also stole a Mercedes Benz from 2019.

The police found the vehicle in Waterbury and stopped it with stop sticks.

The driver, of whom the police said he looked like Gelinas, ran on the floor.

The stolen items were found on the front passenger seat, the state police said.

Among the elements they found was a checkbook taken from the business, which seemed to be dry blood. The business director told investigators that it had appeared that the suspect had cut on broken glass, then snatched blood on the checkbook.

The checkbook was sent to the State Criminal Laboratory, along with the DNA evidence at the steering wheel and the Mercedes changer.

The troops said that Gelinas had just been released from prison and was arrested in Woodbury and surrounding cities for robberies, Lerceni and other crimes.

Gelinas was in arrest for one of the other crimes when the state police have fulfilled a search warrant at the Waterbury Court on January 12, 2024.

When asked about the burglary of August 2023 in Woodbury, he said “I thought you already got me for that.”

The investigators turned it to compare the results with the samples taken from the check and Mercedes.

Gelinas was identified as a suspect by DNA.

He was notified on Friday at the Waterbury Superior Court.
