Victoria Road has closed while firefighters approach Blaze Cafe

A street in Glasgow was closed while firefighters are facing a fire in a cafe.

Emergency services were called on Wednesday at Victoria Road around 17.52 PM, after the reports of a building.

The flames and thick smoke were illustrated coming from inside the MI Chaii cafe, which are under three floors of residential properties.

It is understood that the fire has taken control in the bar and back kitchen of the business.

At least five fire engine engines and an airline are on the spot, and the road between Queens Drive and Torrisdale Street is closed.

Firefighters used beans to have access to the apartments above the cafe to make sure they were empty and could be seen looking for the room with torch room, while the neighbors were looking from the street below.

A spokesman for Scottish Fire and Rescue said: “We were called to a building on Victoria Road around 17.52.

“I sent three pumps and an aerial device to the stage.”

An update of traffic said: “Due to a fire incident, Victoria Road is currently closed between Queens Drive and Torrisdale Street.

“Present emergency services.

“Drivers are advised to look for an alternative route.”

A Police spokesman for Scotland said: “Around 18.10, Wednesday, March 12, 2025, I received a fire report at Victoria Road in Glasgow.

“The emergency services are present.

“Victoria Road is closed, and the motorists are asked to find alternative routes.”
