Chris Paul explains a controversial all-Star incident with Victor Wembanyama

Chris Paul explains a controversial all-Star incident with Victor Wembanyama

Chris Paul and Victor Wembanyama thought they realized a gap. It was disqualified only in San Francisco.

“I tried something I thought we could win,” Paul said.

Neither Wembanyama nor Paul tried an authentic jump during the challenge, which finally left their disqualification. And, while it seemed like a “solution solution”, however, Paul claimed that he and his teammate received prior permission to try his strategy.

“They said it was good to do this,” Paul Taylor Rooks explained a few weeks after the incident, “but it was. A wild situation.”

Immediately after that, Webanyama had a few own words, taking the property of the plan without regret.

“I don’t regret it,” he said. “I think it was a good idea.”

The Cleveland Cavaliers team with Evan Mobily and Donovan Mitchell ended up taking the trophy at home while Paul fell at 0-2 in his career. Even though, he didn’t seem to break away from it.

If something was, he was impressed by Wembanyama.

“Vic is really smart,” Paul said. “I don’t think I did it as well as it did. I have a lot of texts from people (saying) ‘I’m glad you tried something different.”

In the next season, there is no guarantee that Paul will come back for the challenge, although, if it were, he could seek other clarifications. Or maybe he’ll just take a beat.
