The families of six people who died due to food poisoning after having lunch at a Malaysian restaurant in Taiwan will receive a total amount of $ 10.8 million ($ 436,944) in government compensation, the media from Taiwan informed.

Another victim, Mr. LV, 39 years old, received emergency treatment at a hospital on March 23, 2024, for diarrhea and vomiting, one day after his meal of fried noodles and a Pandan drink. Died of acute renal failure.

Twenty-seven people became ill after he had lunch at the exit.

Research indicates improper storage and wrong noodle manipulation, which were kept at room temperature, although they had to be cooled.

Five people – the owner of the restaurant, a branch manager, two chefs and an internal of the restaurant – were accused of negligent homicide.

The families of the six dead meals have asked the Office of Prosecutors in Taipei District for government compensation in accordance with the Law on the protection of victims, China Times reported.

Each family received USD 1.8 million this week.
