The Pipestone man accused of theft, who attacked the homeowner – The Globe

Pipestone-Derek Anderson, 34 years old, from Pipestone, is accused of burglary and aggression of the first degree at the crime level, along with a number of internal attack offenses, following an incident of February 20 in Pipestone.

According to the law enforcement report, a victim reported that Anderson had entered their home and assaulted.

A deputy of the sheriff in Pipestone County met with the victim, who said Anderson had called him countless times and repeatedly hit the front door. They said they didn’t open the door and that Anderson had broken the door and faced them in their bedroom.

When the victim asked what he was doing there, Anderson said he wanted a backpack belonging to a child and “entered the victim.” According to the report, the victim said Anderson hit his lip, fixed it in the bathroom and had his hands around his neck. It seems that Anderson threw a white tub at the victim and hit their ribs and also threw a lit cigarette, with the ashes landing on his neck.

The victim said they ran out and entered Anderson’s running car. Anderson followed, entered the driver’s seat, and turned to his own residence, where there were some unattended children.

When the victim said he couldn’t believe Anderson left children alone at home, Anderson appears to hit him in his eyes. Began to swell and the victim could not see from it. After the children were verified, it seems that Anderson drove the victim back to their residence.

While he took the victim’s statement, the officer noted the bruises in their eye and that the entrance of the house was damaged.

Anderson was located and then arrested. During an interview with the same officer, Anderson admitted that he pushed the victim’s front door when he was asked about the victim’s eye, Anderson said he was hit and “made a mistake in being hit.”

Anderson is scheduled to appear on March 18 at the Pipestone County Fifth Court Court.
