The owner of Lansing Bakery who asked for support for small businesses after he was robbed a second time

Lansing, Mich. (Wilx) -Deanna Brown was born and grew up in South Lansing and built her own business, everything is cheesecake, even in the same neighborhood.

The city is her house, but after the week she experienced, she thought she left it behind.

When Brown presented to work early on Wednesday, it was not to open the store, it was to clean the shattered glass, spread on the bakery floor, after someone threw it through the front door.

“When I was as if I couldn’t stay here, I just want to move away,” she said.

Once she got in, Brown and her husband Shawn quickly realized that several items were stolen.

“That is, this was one of the biggest things, such as what they want? They will also flour, some cheesecakes, “she told news 10.” We give her all the time. All they had to do was to make a call that we gave a few slices. “

A disappointing scene, but not one that is not known. Brown said she was vandalized and robbed before, about three years ago, along with a few other companies in the strip mall where her bakery is located.

The news of the second robbery spread quickly on social networks, with customers like Elton Jones who come to show support.

“I think it is very important to bring together and try to find a way to support each other,” he said. “Remove all the best in each other, rather than destroying your valuables and the other’s properties.”

Brown and her husband said they quickly filed a police report and were assured that the Lansing Police Department are investigating.

However, they said they would like to see more protection so that more damage and theft did not happen.

“There is a certain need for some kind of security in this area,” Brown said.

It could have been Brown’s last straw, but she said everything is Cheesecake sticks for launching people.

Although Brown is not sure if the person who entered the bakery is experiencing homeless or uncertain people, she said that their despair was clear by their action.

Theft has pushed it to consider adding a soup kitchen or a necessary dining program as a way to give back its community and make people feel welcome.

“That’s why we are here,” she said. “That’s why I’m here, and that’s what I would like to continue to do.”

Mayor Lansing, Andy Schor, was aware of Brown’s situation on Thursday and shared the following support message for them with the news 10:

“I was incredibly disappointed to hear about this incident at whatever is cheesecake. I like her cheesecakes absolutely and I was there not long ago to pick up some dessert. Deanna is such a wonderful small business owner who has worked hard for this location to be successful. It is unfortunate that someone would do this to him or anyone else trying to make their lives leading a small business. I will have to go back there soon and encourage everyone to stop and buy a slice or two cheesecake. “
