Donna Jones has taken questions from listeners to the hot chair of BBC Radio Solent

A business owner told the Hampshire and Isle of Wight (CCC) police and crime commissioner that Van Break-Ins are not properly investigated.

David Canty runs a security service company in Ringwood and told Donna Jones “an officer could go out, but all I do is give you an insurance reference. The police are simply not interested in following any evidence we have. ”

He said he suffered 25 vandalized vehicles in a night, with stolen tools and damages worth 4000 pounds for each vehicle.

The CCP replied, saying that it was disappointed if this was a recent experience “” If there are lines of investigation to follow, the chief constantly agreed with me that they would be followed. ”

The question was given to Hampshire and the police and crime commissioner in Isle of Wight, Donna Jones, who was in the Hot Radio Solent BBC Solent chair, taking comments from the listeners.

Also, Mrs. Jones was requested by Karen from Ringwood on Shoplifting, on the day a poll from the British retail consortium found that almost a quarter of the UK has been witnessing crime in the last 12 months.

In Southampton, the figure was even higher, 28%.

PCC said he encouraged the creation of “teams in the center of the city”, which meant that the officers were visibly upward on the high streets.

She said that there was no massive peak in incidents, but merchants and managers reported shopping again, now the police were responding.

Many of those who shop are addicted, she added, and the drug testing upon arrival at the police station was now standard, so that people can be tied to specialized assistance workers.

“Report, report, report” was her mantra, so the police obtained a clear image of the place where the criminals were.

David Canty said he was disappointed that the officers did not seek to break the vehicles.

Andrew, 62 years old, from West Wight, said that the phone is, with a head of a woman two weeks ago and said he did not hear from officers, despite the fact that he immediately reported the crime.

Donna told Andrew that it is probably the “pure work volume” for detectives, saying that there is an ongoing recruitment campaign to make officers need.

But she reminded people that she was there to keep the police to count on the names of people like him and promised to drive her away.

Conservative Donna Jones is a police and crime commissioner of 2021 and has announced the desire to be the mayor of the strategic authority for Hampshire and the Solest region.
