Two other lottery officials were rejected after the appeals fails

“Dlamini faced six charges arising from incorrect conduct during his term in higher positions, including provincial manager: Kwazu-Natal, main manager: Financing operations and COO,” said the special investigation unit (SIU) in a statement Shortly after he was found guilty for four charges last year at his initial discipline meeting.

“His dismissal was completed on September 27, 2024,” said Siu.

Siu greets the guilty findings

Following their original guilt findings, Siu, who investigated both men, issued a statement receiving their dismissions.

Siu said he sent both men for disciplinary actions by the NLC “following a large investigation” in terms of 2020 The presidential proclamation authorizing her to investigate corruption that involves non-profit lottery subsidies.

“The investigation was focused on the charges of corruption, defective administration and improper use of NLC subsidy funds. He revealed systemic governance failures and personal enrichment to the detriment of public resources ”, said Siu in his November 2024 statement.

“The dismissal of Mr. Vilakazi and Mr. Dlamini is part of the implementation of the results of the investigations and the management of the consequences to correct any crime that he discovered during the investigation.”

The SIU statement listed the “key findings” in his investigations regarding the corruption of the lottery:

  • The delusion of the subsidy funds allocated for the development of the community;
  • use of forged documentation to facilitate payments to non -compliant entities; and
  • Failures in supervision and responsibility, high officials who act outside their authority to benefit from themselves or their associates.
