Maryland man, related to sex traffic, armed robberies arrested at Elkridge Motel

A Baltimore man was accused of a number of offenses, including sex traffic and armed robberies, who were supposed to work in and around an Elkridge motel, according to Howard County Police Department.

Police said Robert “Rofo” Bennett Jr., 27 years old, are experiencing 47 charges of sex, prostitution, armed robbery, robbery, theft and weapon violations.

The department began to investigate Bennett Jr. in November 2024, after the police received advice on his activities on the Motel terrace in Elkridge, MD.

Detectives claim that Bennett Jr. arranged prostitution data for several victims of adult women, assaulted and stole their money, sometimes at the point of weapon. He would have maintained control over the victims by providing drugs and issuing threats, the police said.

Bennett Jr. is also accused of assaulting and robbing a man to whom he provided drugs.

The police arrested Bennett Jr. on February 6. Currently, he is held unrelated to the Detention Center in Howard County.

The victims were referred to local organizations for assistance services, the police said.
