Two suspended tennis stars and one fined after violation of corruption rules Tennis | Sports

Tennis players Joshua Muhire and Anna Lytneva were punished by the International Integrity Agency (ITI) for violating corruption rules. Both players are prepared for long spells in the professional game, Lytneva also taught a four -digit fine following an ITII investigation.

The competitor from Rwand, Muhire, was accused of “facilitating bets” and “counting the result of an event”, both violations related to a match played in September 2023. The 22 -year -old, who is unlawful, denied the allegations, who were maintained by an anti -corruption hearing officer during a video call. The officer also sent a suspension of two years and six months.

Therefore, Muhire will be outside the action until August 23, 2027, with the beginning date of his suspension, listed as on February 24, 2025. The forbidden player will be forbidden to “play, train or participate in any authorized tennis event by ITIA members”, which includes ATP, ITF and organizers of all four big skins.

Lytneva was sanctioned for the “contract of the result of an event”, “facilitating a player not to use his best efforts”, “conspiring to commit a corruption offense” and “Request”.

The ITIA investigation was related to the Lytneva activity of 2023, and it was accused on January 31 this year. The Russian player did not respond to the accusations, ITIA says.

Lytneva received a 12 -month suspension, which started on February 25, 2025 and will take place until February 24, 2026. It was also slapped with a fine of approximately 3,870 pounds, of which 2,322 pounds are suspended and 1,548 pounds are not.

Itia explicitly: “A” sanction considered “can be issued to people who choose not to respond to ITIA investigations and the arbitration process. People have 10 working days to challenge a sanction considered an independent anti -corruption officer. Lytneva did not appeal.”

Lytneva, 22, has a simple career ranking in 1377. And its winning record in ITF, WTA and Billie Jean King King is at five victories and 12 defeats, leaving them with a 29 %win rate.

According to ITF statistics, Muhire played in nine matches ITF, WTA or Davis at the Cup level and lost them all. He was cared for in male singles, but he reached a high career ranking of 972 in beach tennis doubles.
