Man from Brooklyn arrested for rape attempt, robbery at State Park

Brooklyn-a 22-year-old Brooklyn man was arrested on Thursday after a one-year investigation into a sexual motivated attack in the Shirley Chisolm State Park.

Amadou Kane is facing a 19 -account indictment, including the 1st degree robbery charges, first -degree rape, strangulation, assault and threats, according to New York State Police.

Kane is accused of entering the Brooklyn Park on the bicycle in September 2023, where it was assumed to be suffocated, robbed and tried to sexually agitate a victim who was walking in the park.

Investigators identified Kane after examining “countless video surveillance”, analyzing electronic devices and examining banking, the police said.

Following his arrest by the Bureau of Criminal State Police Investigation, Kane was processed at 75 years of NYPD and took place at the central reservation of Kings County.

On March 14, Kane was transferred to Riker’s Island Correctional Facility while waiting for the referral.
