Judith Evans was sentenced to two years in prison sentenced for care and abuse of a school

A teacher who manipulated and sexually exploited a teenager was labeled as a “cold, calculating child.” Judith Evans was sentenced to two years in prison at Belfast Crown Court, for multiple sexual crimes against a schoolboy.

It will also be registered as a life offender for life. After confronting the police on his crimes, Evans falsified that her teenage victim had threatened her and raped her. Judge Patricia Smyth revealed that almost 10,000 text messages were changed between teacher and student.

The judge mentioned that Evans had revealed in the “young teenage attraction to her.” Evans, 33, from Elmwood Grove in Newtownabbey, was employed at Belfast Boys Model School when crimes were held. Post-Condamnarea, the chief inspector of the PSNi detective, Jill Duffie, said: “Evans is a cold children, who calculates, who was in a trusted position and abused this position, taking advantage of a young boy who was her student at that time.

“She preyed on her vulnerabilities and built an inappropriate friendship with the boy before taking care of her and exploiting her sexually. The messages changed between her and her minor student were extremely sexual and nothing was sick.”

Initially, Evans denied the accusations, but later, the mother of the two was guilty for a total of eight sexual crimes committed against the teenager. The woman was guilty for a number of accusations, including sexual communication with a child, meeting a child following sexual care, involving sexual activities with a child involving penetration and holding the boy’s indecent images. These offenses took place between March 1 and May 17, 2024.

In addition, she confessed that she had perverted the course of justice. In conviction, Judge Smyth addressed the court, explaining that the woman took care of the vulnerable child, who was affected by her family situation. She started the care process, offering -ie -mail and mobile phone number, which led to text exchanges.

Judge Smyth said: “From an early stage they have contained inappropriate sexual suggestions.” The judge informed the court that, during the Easter holidays of 2024, their communication intensified, which led to the exchange of sexual photos with the boy.

She continued: “In a few weeks, the defendant invited the victim to meet her. The defendant met the victim on two occasions outside the school where a sexual activity took place.”

On another occasion, the boy refused to enter the car of Evans because she belonged to her husband and was not equipped with nuanced windows. The judge also mentioned that the texts suggested at the sexual contact that took place at school, although this was not confirmed.

The court said that Evans frequently called the boy’s mother to talk about his behavior and expressed the desire to retain him after courses for additional lessons. The judge noted the incident, mentioning: “The mother remembered that her son was returning home, looking discouraged on an occasion, with a tie, and the shirt buttons opened after apparently remained for the review.”

Following a discovery of his girlfriend about a revealing text message, the boy confessed that he was unfaithful and shared that he felt that he was running and leading his own life, fearing the involvement of the police. It was revealed in court that the boy’s father took him to a hospital where he described sexual meetings with his teacher.

When Evans was questioned by the authorities, she accused the schools of constraining and violated it, supporting her father’s association with wet. However, the judge said: “Each aspect of this account was false.”

By adding to this, she said: “There is no question that the defendant’s behavior and the consequences of discovering these crimes had a profound effect on this young victim and his family.”

Judge Smyth informed the courtroom about the duration of improper exchanges, which stretched over five months, almost 10,000 texts being changed in just one month. Recognizing personal disorders, the judge acknowledged that Evans, a mother itself, was endured by her actions.

However, Evans received a four -year sentence, half of which will be executed. Moreover, the judge confirmed that Evans will be prevented from working with children and floating in the register of sex criminals.

Speaking outside the courtroom, Mrs. Duffie commented: “Following the abuse she was subjected to, the victim suffered a lot with mental health struggles and showed a huge courage to bring it to court today.”

She continued to highlight the challenges faced by the victims of men, stating: “There is still a social stigma that surrounds the masculine victims of abuse, especially that of a sexual nature.”

Mrs. Duffie then expressed the hope of changing the perceptions: “I hope the result of today’s court will show that young boys are just as vulnerable and that there is no shame for them to wear.” She also addressed the importance of talking against abuses: “Silence is never the answer, abuse is never the victim’s fault.”

Mrs. Duffie reaffirmed her dedication to follow those who prey to the children: “We will continue to work in the clock to bring children before the courts and would encourage anyone could have been abused in a similar way. The passage of time does not matter ”.

She emphasized the commitment of law enforcement: “Child abuse cannot continue in Northern Ireland, we will do everything in our power to stop predators in their footsteps and to obtain the victims of justice they deserve.”

“We fully understand the impact that this has caused in the whole school community and we assure that all students and staff that our students’ protection, safety and welfare continue to be our greatest priority.

“We have robust salvgardation processes and, if concerns are raised, appropriate measures are taken with the relevant authorities.”
