Man from prison for preventive release for murder arrested in Lenoir County

Lenoir County, NC (Witn) – Authorities say a man from prison for preventive release was arrested on Thursday in Lenoir County.

The Lenoir County Sheriff’s office says that, aged 19, Da’Marie Gray tried to evade the control permit control point at the intersection between Field Station Road and Esson Road and was found with a stolen fire weapon.

They say that when a deputy caught his vehicle, Gray ran at a high speed of speed, passing a vehicle in an area without crossing and running a stop sign.

Gray’s vehicle stopped at a residence in the 4000 block of Owens Family Road and Gray entered the residence.

Shortly after, he came out of the residence and was arrested.

Other detectives and LCSO deputies arrived and requested a search warrant for the residence.

The search, which included assistance from a canine of the Kinston police department, revealed a stolen gun with a modified series in the back yard.

Gray was transported to the Lenoir County Magistrate’s Office, where he was accused of:

· Charge of offense to run away to circumvent the arrest

· Charge of offense to hold a stolen fire weapon

· Crime of offense to hold a weapon with a modified serial number

· The offense fee to carry a hidden weapon

· The accusation of crime to resist a public officer

· Crime traffic violations

Gray has not received any connection due to the fact that it was released preventively for an attempt to accuse the first degree.
