Classic British TV episodes marked “unabativable” by young “woke” | TV and radio | Showbiz & TV

Many classic British TV shows hold a place in the hearts of the nation, while still matching old shows for an explosion of nostalgia. However, recently, there have been a series of warnings slapped on some of the most beloved shows, with young “awakened” who mark the programs as “untouchable”.

George & Mildred is one of the latest shows that have been hit by ITVX warnings, because he claims that some scenes could be “offensive”, saying that it contains “classic British humor from a past era.” The classic comedy was one of the Spin-off series from The very successful man About the House, which took place on ITV from 1976 to 1976. George and Mildred Roper followed, played by actors Yootha Joyce and Brian Murphy, were the owners of the pension house where Chrissy, Jo and Robin shared an apartment.

Such shows were recently the subject of the discussion about Reddit, a forum on the Internet, in which people shared, which shows that they can no longer follow – with them stressing that some classics have been completely eliminated from the air. We take a look at some of the shows that were included in the debate.

The Strangers was written by the co-creator Rob Grant of Red Dwarf and was broadcast on Sky One between February 15 and April 11, 2000. A single series was made with a total of nine episodes.

According to Wikipedia: “It was not launched on DVD or repeated from initial running.” A fan of Reddit commented: “I’m not surprised why. Terrible”.

Game, set and match

The game, the set and the match is a 1988 television series, directed by Ken Grieve and Patrick Lau and written by John Howlett. Filmed on the location in Berlin and Mexico, the project included a large international distribution with 3,000 supplements and a budget of $ 8 million.

While critically appreciated, series assessments were a disaster. According to a user on Reddit: “The author hated him so much that he would have bought repeated rights.”

2point4 children

This British sitcom was written by Andrew Marshall and follows the life of Porters, a seemingly average family, whose world is frequently turned and bizarre events.

The show was initially broadcast on BBC One from 1991 to 1999 and ran for eight series. The main actor Gary Olsen died in 2000, effectively excluding the show for any subsequent series.

A fan of Reddit commented: “A rewatch started last year, but it was not really the test of time for me,” while another added: “In the 90’s it was not very good.”

Great Britain

In the main roles of Matt Lucas and David Walliams, the Little Britain’s sketch comedy rolled as a television series between 2003 and 2006. The program consisted of sketches involving the exaggerated parodies of the British in various fields of life.

The recurring characters included Andy Pipkin who was falsely presented as requiring the use of a wheelchair to win his career Lou Todd; Daffyd Thomas, who claims to be “the only gay in the village”, despite many contrary evidence; and Vicky Polard, presented as a “chav” in the working class that engages in antisocial behavior.

Posted on Reddit, a user realized the show, saying: “I remember that the show appeared when I was at school. It didn’t seem funny then it wasn’t a bit. I followed a few recent clips to see if I will connect with him now and it is even more inappropriate.”
