Police: son Rotterdam stabbed mother 79 to death

A man from Rotterdam is accused of stabbing his mother 79 years old.

The Rotterdam police responded to the Cobblestone Court around 7:20 pm Sunday. The officers found Catherine Haggerty dead. Patrick Haggerty, 39, was arrested on the spot.

Haggerty was accused of murder by second degree. He was sent to the prison in Schenectady County waiting for the notification.

The police said the incident seems to be of a domestic nature.
