Hayward man, 73 -year -old, convicted for bankruptcy

A 73 -year -old Hayward man from Wisconsin was convicted of two accusations in bankruptcy and a number of criminal contempt for the court. Bernard Seidling was sentenced to a four -day trial on March 13.

Seidling deposited for bankruptcy in 2022 and falsely claimed that he has no real estate, retirement accounts, trusts, partnerships or business related properties and that he had only a total deposit account of $ 195. An investigation has established that Seidling had four bank accounts on behalf of trusts and a partnership with a combined balance of over 3,000,000 USD. Then, in 2023, a search warrant at the Hayward residence in Seidling allowed law enforcement to discover over $ 100,000 in cash and over $ 4,000,000 in improper cashier checks, most of them being drawn on business bank accounts, but made paid for Seidling.

“Frauda threatens the free and correct markets on which our economy is based. Moreover, fraud against the court – in this case, the bankruptcy court – has the potential to undermine public confidence in the correctness of the courts. This case reflects the commitment of my office to pursue the pursuit of financial crimes and to protect the integrity of the bankruptcy system, ”said American lawyer Timothy O’Shea. “I am grateful for our partnership with the Office for the American Mandator and I congratulate our federal and state -enforcement partners, FBI, Wisconsin Department and US post inspectors.”

Also, the lawyer’s office said that the Government has proven that Seidling has frauduted the bankruptcy court and the agent of bankruptcy, representing falsely that it cannot participate significantly in the case of bankruptcy due to its physical and mental health.

Seidling’s conviction is established for June 11, 2025. He is facing a maximum sentence of five years in prison for each bankruptcy number and there is no maximum penalty for criminal contempt for the court.
