Douglas County officials determine the 200 -acre grass fire near Stull was accidental, aroused by Ember from Old Campfire | News, sports, jobs

The officials from Douglas County set out on Saturday a grass fire that burned around 200 acres near Sull was aroused by a combination of an old, unattended campfire.

Douglas County strengthened the fire district no. 1, with assistance from the Kansas State Fire Fire Marshal, announced a press release on Monday that the fire near Sull, in the North 1600 and East 400 Roads area, was accidentally started by the old Ember.

The fire, which caused evacuation orders shortly before 5:15, which lasted two hours, was under control on Saturday morning. The fire did not cause the structures to lose and did not cause wounds, As reported by the journal world.

Mathis said under these conditions, fires can “start quickly, spread quickly and burn intensely.” He asked the residents to check the old burns sites, to extinguish their arms and to call 911 if you see smoke.

Starting on Friday morning, the Emergency Communication Center in Douglas County has received 43 fire calls, and the district consolidated by firefighters no. 1 responded to at least 20 separate grass fires.
