Start 2 days seminar on the metagenomic analysis of the scat tiger

Of the TWO-Day national seminar, organized under the aegis of the school of Wildlife forensic and health at nanaji Deshmukh Veterinary Science (NDVSU), Jabalpur, Comnetced on March 17, 2025. “Viral and bacterial metagenomic analysis in SCAT of Wild Tigers of Madhya Pradesh.” Veterinary officers from various national parks and members of the faculty from veterinary colleagues participate in the seminar. The main objective of the event is to perform a metagenomic analysis of the viral and bacterial content in the tiger SCAT found in the national parks.

The seminar was inaugurated by the Honorable Vice-Cancer of NDVSU, prof. (Dr.) Mandeep Sharma, as a head guest. The key speakers included Dr. AB Srivastava, former director of the School of Wild Fauna and Health, Jabalpur; Dr. Rakesh Mishra, director of Tigs, Bengaluru; Dr. Sandeep Goyal, scientist at Niab, Hyderabad; and Dr. Ak Sharma, head of laboratory at Vantara. They developed on the main subject of the seminar and discussed the recent progress in related research.

Prominent university officials present at the event included Dr. SK Joshi, the director of research services; Dr. Sunil Nayak, extension director; Dr. Madhu Swami, delivery director; Dr. RK Sharma, dean of the Veterinary College and Strustey Animals, Jabalpur; Dr. Aditya Mishra, dean of students’ welfare; And Dr. Shobha Javarea, director of the School of Wild and Health, NDVSU, Jabalpur.

The seminar was coordinated by Dr. Kajal Kumar Jadhav, with the active participation of the university officials and the members of the faculty at the School of Health and Health. The event process was performed by Dr. Nidhi Rajput, while the thanks vote was delivered by Dr. Devendra Podhade.

The seminar aims to strengthen the research capacities and improve the scientific understanding of viral and bacterial pathogens in tiger populations, contributing to improving efforts to conserve wild life in Madhya Pradesh.
