2 of New York arrested after the Paduah police alerted to the stolen jeep

Paduah, Ky. (KFVS) – Police says a stolen registration alert led to two arrests and recovering a stolen jeep.

Joseph D. Horton, 45 years old, from New Berlin, New York, was arrested on charges of receiving stolen goods ($ 10,000 or more), receiving stolen properties (below $ 10,000), holding a controlled substance, holding drug parafernal and operating on a suspended driving license.

Rebecca L. Boyer, 46 years old, also from New Berlin, was arrested on the charge of receiving stolen goods ($ 10,000 or more), receiving stolen properties (below $ 10,000), holding a controlled substance, holding drug parafernal and possession of marijuana.

According to the Paduah Police Department, they received an alert on Sunday after -March 16, through the flock room safety system, that a vehicle was traveling through a lice with a stolen registration plate.

An officer found the vehicle around 3:51 pm at a Wayne Sullivan Drive.

The police say the registration plate was registered at a 2011 Jeep Wrangler, but was on a 2017 Jeep Wrangler. Both the registration plate and the vehicle were reported in South Carolina.

While looking for the vehicle, the officers found a pipe used to smoke cocaine, two clear cocaine containers and suspected needles.

The police say Horton had a suspended driving license in New York.

Horton and Boyer were arrested and taken to the prison in McCracken County.
