HPD Arrests Man Accused of Attempting to Kill Law Enforcement Officer in Kalihi

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – Honolulu police have arrested a 47-year-old man accused of attempting to kill a law enforcement officer in Kalihi early Sunday morning.

According to HPD, officers stopped a stolen vehicle just after 1:30 in the morning

Police said the driver fled and fired at officers, who then returned fire.

The suspect was transported to the hospital in serious condition.

The police also arrested a female passenger, being suspected of unauthorized entry into a vehicle.

No officers were injured, police said.

The investigation is ongoing.
