Woman shot, killed on Toledo's east side Saturday morning, police say

TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) – Officers with Toledo Police Department we say a woman was killed in an early morning shooting on toledo’s east side saturday.

TPD officials say crews were dispatched to Church Street and Prentice Avenue around 1:00 a.m. Saturday morning. Upon arrival, officers say they found a woman who had been shot and transported her to the hospital.

The victim, identified by police as 32-year-old Elisha Meraz, died of his injuries at the hospital.

Police have not identified a suspect in the shooting. They are asking anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers.
