Woman found dead in camp amid bushfire near Millbury cycle path

A Massachusetts State Trooper found a woman dead in the middle of a house fire in Millbury Saturday night, according to the State Fire Marshal’s Office.

Police responded to a small brush fire in the area of ​​the Blackstone River Bikeway near Route 146 around 8:20 p.m., the fire marshal’s office said. Police soon found the woman in a camp, where the fire is believed to have started.

Police notified the Millbury Fire Department, which completely extinguished the fire, the fire marshal’s office said. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. The Chief Medical Examiner will determine the cause and manner of her death and identify her.
