Crash claims Winnsboro man's life, LSP says

FRANKLIN PARISH, La. (KNOE) – Louisiana State Police report a Winnsboro man is dead after a crash Sunday.

Troopers say the single-vehicle crash happened Oct. 27 on Louisiana Highway 562 near Drane Loop and claimed the life of 50-year-old Kevin Crain. LSP says the initial investigation found that a 1999 Infinity QX4 driven by Crain left the road and struck a tree. Police say Crain, who was not taken into custody, was pronounced dead at the scene. LSP is looking into what could have led to the accident.

Police urge all drivers to never get behind the wheel while impaired, tired or distracted. The LSP says drivers should obey all road laws and ensure everyone traveling in a vehicle is properly restrained.
