WAYNE COUNTY, Ky. (WYMT) – A Monticello man is behind bars after police say he attacked another person with a knife.
Police responded Wednesday morning to a report that someone slashed another person’s tires with a knife.
When they arrived, police said they saw what appeared to be a struggle between several people.
Police said they then saw a person come off the ground with knife cuts.
Michael Santiago Lopez was identified as the perpetrator and arrested after police said he was physically restrained.
Lopez was charged with second-degree assault, six counts of first-degree wanton endangerment, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct.
Police said they also found narcotics in Lopez’s pockets, leading to a drug possession charge.
Lopez was taken to the Wayne County Detention Center.
The victim was treated at the scene by Wayne County EMS.
