Man faces 10 charges after admitting to stealing mail in Coral Gables

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – A 28-year-old man confessed to stealing checks from Coral Gables business mailboxes to commit fraud, according to Sgt. Michelle Christensen, of the Coral Gables Police Department.

Records showed Marcos Antonio Nuviola-Rodriguez, first arrested on Oct. 18, had four cases pending Wednesday in Miami-Dade court. In all, Nuviola-Rodriguez was facing 10 charges.

Prosecutors filed the first case on Oct. 19 for burglary of an unoccupied conveyance, a third-degree felony; and petit larceny, a misdemeanor.

Prosecutors also filed charges Oct. 22 of criminal mischief and two counts of theft; on Oct. 23 for burglary of an unoccupied conveyance, criminal mischief and petit larceny; and on Oct. 24 for breaking into an unoccupied vehicle and petit larceny.

Miami-Dade County Circuit Court Judges Carlos Humberto Gamez and Marcus Richard Bach Armas presided over the cases.
