15 Malaysian victims of scam union in Myanmar turn back home

Bukit Kayu Hitam (Bernama): A total of 15 victims of a scam union in Myanmar were successfully brought back in Malaysia Monday (February 24).

All the victims have safely reached the Bukit Kayu Hitam Immigration, Curantin, ICQS BUKIT complex (ICQS) and were taught to the Malaysian Royal Police (PDRM) to help investigations.

In today’s statement, the Foreign Ministry said that the Malaysian Embassy in Bangkok facilitated the repatriation of the victims.

According to the ministry, after the Myanmar authorities handed over to the victims of the Thai authorities on February 12, the Malaysian Embassy offered comprehensive consular assistance.

“The assistance included consular visits, contacting the relatives and issuing temporary travel documents.

“The embassy also arranged transportation and offered basic needs, including food and face masks, in addition to accompanying victims during their 25 -hour trip from Tak, Thailand, at Bukit Kayu Hitam.”

The ministry said that the success of the repatriation process was supported by close cooperation from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, of the PDRM, of the Malaysian Immigration Department and the Malaysian General Consulate in Songkhla.

The ministry expressed its greatest appreciation for the Thai government for its assistance in receiving the victims of the Malaysia of Myanmar and accelerated the repatriation process.

“The Foreign Ministry remains employed to ensure that the well -being of Malaysian citizens from abroad is protected and, through its diplomatic missions, is always ready to provide consular assistance when needed,” added the ministry – Bernama
