Five suspects were killed in a shift of fires with the police in Ntuzuma, north of Durban.

The officers were busy combing the area for several gunshots, who fled on the spot on Monday morning.

Robert Netshuna of the Police said they are acting on information about an unconfirmed number of suspects traveling in two vehicles.

He said he is believed to intend to make a business robbery in Kwamashu.

“The two vehicles of the suspects were parked at the corner of the streets of Mdubu and Melusi and it is suspected that the suspects had a disagreement, which led to the shooting of shooting between them.

“The police were prevented by that altercation, and the suspects turned their weapons to the police, and the police responded.

“During the exchange, four suspects were shot and injured fatally. A search in the vicinity of the crime scene led to the discovery of the body of the fifth suspect who tried to run and suffered injury.”

Netshuna says they have recovered three firearms so far.

He said that two other suspects, who are supposed to shoot each other, were found at a hospital.
