Man charged in holdup during transaction on Facebook market

Kalamazoo, MI -the police arrested a suspect in a robbery that happened during a transaction on the Facebook market.

The 24 -year -old Ignacio Pederson from Kalamazoo was accused of reinforced and resistance and obstructed the police for trying to flee during his arrest last week.

Theft happened around 1 pm.

A Facebook market user arranged the sale of a mobile phone and two mobile cases when the buyer assumed to have a weapon and robbed the victim of the articles, the police said.

Kalamazoo police arrested on Thursday, February 20th.

He was closed on bonds totaling $ 25,500.

Police offered the following tips to arrange safe online transactions:

Meets in a safe location: Choose a well -lit public area with security cameras, such as safe KDPS exchange area outside the headquarters. Be cautious if the other party insists on a specific, unchanged location.

Bring a friend: Avoid going alone. Having someone with you offers an additional layer of security and can discourage potential scammers.

Trust your instincts: If something feels about the buyer, seller or meeting location, cancel the transaction.

Check the seller’s profile: Review the Seller’s Facebook profile for red flags, such as new accounts, incomplete profiles or refusal to share basic details.
