Brussels (DPA -AFX) – After a slightly weak start and a subsequent decrease to lower levels, French stocks regained a land lost on Monday morning. The mood remains cautious due to the lack of positive triggers.

The data from Eurostat showed that the inflation rate of consumption prices in the euro area came to 2.5% in January, the highest rate of July 2024.

The basic inflation rate, which excludes food and energy prices, remained unchanged at 2.7% for the fifth consecutive month.

Meanwhile, in Germany, the Christian Democratic Union in Germany (CDU) appeared Victorius. CDU, led by Friedrich Merz, seems to negotiate to form a coalition government with the Social Democratic Party (SPD), which could lead to pro-Christian policies and reforms.

Benchmark Cac 40, which dropped to 8,093.05, losing over 60 points, decreased by 11.22 tips or 0.14% to 8,143.29 a few minutes ago.

Schneider Electric is down by almost 4%, weighing the index. Legrand is about 1.5%lower, while ArcelorMittal, Hermes International, Air Liquide, Safran, Sticroelectronics, LVMH and Edenred decreased by 0.5 to 0.8%.

Vivendi increased by 2.7%, the Veolia environment earns 2.5%, Eurofins Scientific advances 2.1%, and Carrefour is increasing by 2%.

Airbus Group, Engie, Thales, Michelin and Danone earn 1 to 1.7%. Teleperformanța, Vinci, Unibail Rodamco, Orange, Bouygues and Kering are with modest winnings.
