Explosives thrown at the Russian General Consulate in France

The explosive devices were thrown at the building of the Russian general consulate in the south of the French city Marseille, causing explosions. The Russian state tass news agency says that the Monday incident has not caused victims or damage to the building.

Tass says that three explosive devices have been launched, two of them leaving. The French media has quoted investigation sources saying that thrown objects are plastic bottles containing liquid.

Tass quoted the spokesman of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, saying that Moscow demands that France take immediate and thorough measures to investigate the incident.

Monday marks three years since Russia began its invasion in Ukraine. It remains unknown if the explosions have had anything to do with the invasion.
