Meet with the accidental “father” of the sparkling water: the unexpected discovery that sparked a revolution

If someone visits the Schweppes website, the famous brand of soft drinks and sparkling water and selects the history page, one will be impressed to find out that it has been around 2.5 centuries. When Johann Jakob Schwepp founded the company that made him rich in Geneva in 1783, he knew he was exploiting an idea that did not belong to him. But he had wisdom to understand his commercial value. For those in the business world, Schweppes, like the oldest company that deals with carbonated drinks, is also considered to be the one who invented them. And yet, it’s not true. The first person to do this was the Russian chef, Joseph Stewart, who was the first person to do so, but accidentally!
