Rochester-a man from Rochester is experiencing accusations to ask for children after making messages with an undercover officer in Texas, who presents himself as a 14-year-old.

Shem Eugene Goette, 48, was accused in Olmsted County of asking for a child to engage in sexual conduct, engaging in electronic communications related to sexual conduct with a child and distributing materials regarding the sexual conduct of a sexual conduct Child, all offenses. According to charges on Monday, February 24, Goette sent messages to the undercover officer for almost four months.

According to the criminal complaint, an officer with the Sheriff’s office in Brazos County of Texas contacted the Rochester Police Department, on February 5, that the office led a sting of online sexual crime and identified Goette. An undercover officer operated on a Facebook page, pretending to be a 14-year-old girl.

A Facebook account belonging to Goette began sending messages on the undercover officer’s Facebook page on October 17, 2024. The complaint said that Goette constantly sent the undercover account until the beginning of February, often initiating contact.

Goette told the undercover officer that he needed an attendant, said he wanted to have sex and asked if the girl would like to be in a relationship with him, the complaint said.

One month after Goette began to send the undercover officer, he asked how old he was. The undercover officer said he is in the ninth grade and is 14 years old. Goette then asked the undercover officer about her sexual historian.

Throughout their messages, Goette continued to tell the undercover officer that she wants to have sex with her. Goette described sexual actions and asked the undercover officer to send her sexually explicit photos. Later, Goette sent the officer undercover sexually explicit photos. According to the complaint, Goette often spoke about how the undercover officer was only 14 years old.

A search warrant for the South Rochester residence -Goette was executed on February 19th. He initially denied to talk to minor women and told officers if someone said they were under 18, he would delete them.

Then Goette told the officers that she had “dirty” conversations with someone who said they were under 18.

Goette was previously condemned for a criminal conduct by the fifth degree in 2016, neglecting a child in Sibley County in 2008 and internal aggression in Carver County in 2002.
