On February 21, Joshua C. Boyd, 42, was convicted of sexual motion and sexual battery under 13 years.

In 2021, the victim, who was 10 years old at that time, told her school teacher that Boyd had sexually abused her for years, according to Calcasieu parish district lawyer.

Boyd is facing 25 and 99 years old for every accusation. He will be convicted on February 27, 2025.
