3 faces charges in Trump’s protest incident in chapter

Three people are experiencing charges of offenses-including a man who would have attracted a fire-resulted weapon from an incident to an anti-trump protest on February 5, according to the Carson City District Prosecutor.

On February 5, the Carson City sheriff’s office issued a press release, after a protester claimed that a firearm was directed on them. The press release requested information about the event and was part of the CCSO investigation.

A statement sent by the District Prosecutor Garrit Pruyt described the incident on Friday:

“Recently, there was a demonstration outside the building of the state chapter Nevada along the North Carson street. A large group of people gathered on the sidewalk and waved flags and were looking with signs as the traffic passed. An individual with a flag began to descend slowly in front of vehicles, so he prevented the way. This individual moved slowly and on the road, but did not seem to have the intention to cross the road. Rather, the movement seemed to be destined to prevent drivers on the road and to draw their attention from the road and to demonstration.

“At one point, the individual with the flag went down in front of a white truck, that truck then directed the line by marking the bicycle tape with the flag. The individual carrying the flag went out quickly back from the vehicle. However, as the vehicle was thrown, the individual with the flag threw the PVC pillar hitting the lifting windshield. The blow had enough strength to cause a large crack in the windshield. At this action, the driver of the truck stopped suddenly. A separate individual, which is not previously involved, is in a hurry to the passenger’s passenger’s side, knocks on the window and then tries to force the side door of the front passenger. The video collected during the investigation shows that, in response to this action, the truck driver attracts and displays a firearm. With the passage of traffic, the video does not show that the firearm was targeted in the direction of the protesters, but it is clearly seen in a view of the side profile.

“All three persons involved are accused of offenses of crimes corresponding with their illegal conduct. Taxes will include injury or modification with a vehicle, obstructing a road, violation of peace and drawing a deadly weapon in a threatening manner. “

On Monday, Sheriff Carson, Ken Furlong, said the three involved will receive a summons to appear before a Carson City Court judge, where they will respond to the charges and could be arrested.

Furlong said that CCSO sent the problem yes about whether the arrests were justified. He said that he supports the “absolutely” the Bureau DA using summons compared to the typical arrests, although he did not know the date of the court hearings.

Furlong also mentioned another incident from an anti-trump protest on February 17 in the same location. Coming out of this protest, a reported battery is investigated and was sent to DA Bureau, he said.

CCSO is expecting another similar protest in the first week of March, Furlong said.

The DA office warned against any criminal action during political protests.

“As a state capital, Carson City has a proud tradition of political debate and civil speech. The ability to protest and peacefully gather to share and debate ideas is something to celebrate, ”says DA. “However, any criminal actions undertaken during any form of protest will still be pursued in accordance with the law.

“In addition, any person who engages in violence during any process of first change will not be tolerated. Whether a protest occurs, it remains illegal in the state to obstruct the roads, use or try to use the strength or violence against another, threatens or harass others or to cause, otherwise, physical damage to people or properties. The Carson City district lawyer’s office will continue to work with our law enforcement partners to ensure that Carson City remains a safe forum and respecting the law for political expression. “

According to the Associated Press, the first wave of anti-trump protests on February 5 increased from a movement called 50 protests, 50 states, one day, “organized online under the hashtags #buildtheresistance and #50501”.

The protest of February 5 in Carson echoed in the first days of Trump’s first presidency in 2017, when “resistance” became a motto for opposition movements.
