12 sentenced in multi-state drug ring, convicted for fentanel trafficking, methamphetamine

Twelve suspects in a drug trafficking conspiracy and have been convicted for various offenses that involve the conspiracy for distribution and possession with the intention to distribute controlled substances in middle and other parts, according to the General Prosecutor of the United States.

In 2022, FBI, DEA and internal security agents investigated large counterfeit pills that were registered “M30”, methamphetamine and marijuana that were sent from California to 17 different states, including Tennessee. The agents managed to identify Matthew Cox as the suspect who delivered these packages to other members of the drug trafficking and to follow his conversations by discussing drug prices, drug transport and drug quality.

An defendant, Quortes Duncan, told Cox that he wants stronger pills to make customers cling to pills to increase profits. Cox complied and tried to send these pills to Duncan, but the agents confiscated them.

The agents also learned that another defendant, Khyre McClain, tried to establish and wash the money through a limited liability corporation.

On July 25, 022, the agents confiscated a package from a UPS store in California, intended for Nashville. The package contained thousands of counterfeit fentanel pills that weighed over two kilograms and more than eight kilograms of methamphetamine.

On August 9, 2022, the agents confiscated two other packages in California, which were also intended, one contained 472 grams of counterfeit fentanel pills, and the other package contained about four kilograms of methamphetamine.
