Cortland police arrest man for burglary, false accusations of person

Cortland-Ofites from the Cortland City Police Department arrested a 37-year-old man on Wednesday night after responding to a burglary complaint on N. Main.

The police said he was called around 11:40 by a plaintiff who reported that a man, later identified as Monti J. Mann, was inside a house without a permit.

When the officers arrived, they found the house in disarray, food and other scattered objects.

Investigators have established that Mann has damaged the property inside the house and remained on the spot.

The police located Mann in the kitchen, where he initially provided a false name.

Later, the officers confirmed their true identity as Monti Mann, who was searched on a Greenville Larceny mandate.

Mann was arrested and charged with second -degree burglary, a C -class offense; Ghost of the fourth degree of fourth, a class A crime; Criminal modification of the third degree, a class B crime; and a false person, a class B.

It also faces a password violation mandate.

Mann was notified and taken to prison in Cortland County.

He is scheduled to appear in the city of the city at a later date.
