Over 100 Lahore police officers were dismissed to refuse the champions trophy

More than 100 Lahore police employees were dismissed because he refused to perform security tasks during the movement of foreign teams for the future ICC Champions 2025 trophy.

According to police sources, the officials resigned, mainly from the anti-riot force (ARF), were eliminated from their positions following the directives from the Deputy Inspector (DIG) of the operations. It seems that the staff has been assigned to provide security for teams traveling between Qaddafi stadium and designated hotels, but either they were absent or clearly refused to assume responsibilities.

An official report on their dismissal was registered in accordance with the directives of the Police superintendent (SP) ARF. The official registration now includes the detailed documentation of the personnel who failed to report for the service.

The authorities have maintained a strict position in this regard, stating that there is no room for negligence when it comes to the security of international events.

“Those who present carelessness or abandonment of the debt will not be tolerated in the department,” a high official noted.

It seems that the dismissed staff has been associated with various wings of the police force. Their refusal to perform their function at such a crucial event has raised concerns about the discipline within the department, especially in front of an international high quality tournament.

The security arrangements for the ICC 2025 champions trophy remain a maximum priority for the law enforcement agencies, given the international significance of the event.

Punjab police coordinated with security forces and information agencies to ensure that there is an unregistered plan to protect players, officials and spectators.

This movement follows a wider tendency of strict disciplinary measures within the law enforcement agencies. Recently, 15 Balochistan tax personnel were dismissed for teaching terrorists, signaling a wider repression on the perceived violations of debt between security forces.
